Greetings from Leading with Parents, the stakeholder driven family and community engagement model that guides, directs, supports and facilitates Family and Community in the school and/or distinct-wide setting. in an initiative designed to support, sustain, build to capacity, and/or create the school or district parent leadership team. Stakeholder voice and authentic engagement is at the heart of Leading with Parents.
Our work is centered around the Family And Community Engagement Team, also known as the FACE Team and the Four Primary Links to Family and Community Engagement. Leading with Parents’ mission is to create Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Teams that will support the work of the school/district .
The FACE Team invites parents, families, and the community to walk and work alongside the school and/or district. We know that when parents are involved within the school community. We provide professional learning for school level leaders, district leaders, parents, and the greater community using the Leading with Parents engagement model. FACE Teams that will support the work of the school/district. This includes parent/family voice in the decision-making process, supporting parent learning, family engagement within the school, supporting school/district initiatives, and engaging the community within the school setting.
We know that family engagement not only enriches social and emotional learning, but this component is the cornerstone to authentic school-family partnerships. As outlined in “Partners in Education: A Dual Capacity-Building Framework for Family-School Partnerships” released by the U.S. Department of Education in 2013 and updated by Dr. Karen Mapp in 2019. The hallmark of successful school-family partnerships is the creation of a trusting relationship between families and schools that recognizes and respects each other’s diverse backgrounds, skills, and strengths (Mapp & Bergman, 2019; Albright et al., 2011; Bryk & Schneider, 2004).
Parents and families in the United States truly desire authentic family and community engagement as well as desiring social -emotional support for their childrenA 2022 survey conducted by Learning Heroes in “Hidden in Plain Sight- A Way Forward for Equity-Centered Family Engagement”, 88% of the parents reported that teachers and schools engaging with families is essential to helping students succeed. Continuing with the report, 81% expressed that all teachers, staff, and school leaders have a role to play when it comes to family engagement. Finally, 77% of the parents noted that principals should make family engagement a top priority for their schools.

Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Team Development
We assist schools and districts in planning, developing, and implementing a FACE Team—a dedicated group of parents and community members focused on school-wide engagement efforts.
FACE Team Training
Our professional development programs provide essential training for building- and district-level parent and community leader teams, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to lead effectively.
The FACE Team Model
The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Team serves as the central parent organization within a school or district. This team is responsible for brainstorming, designing, planning, and leading various school and district-wide events and activities.
Membership in the FACE Team is completely free! There are no membership or annual fees for parents and community members to join.

Meet Dr. Ted Huff
Dr. Huff has been a dedicated public educator for over 30 years, serving as a high school theatre teacher, middle school assistant principal, principal, and adjunct professor. Passionate about leadership development, professional learning, character education, and family engagement, he empowers educators and school communities to grow and lead effectively.
His middle school earned multiple national and state honors, including National Blue Ribbon and National School of Character recognition. A multi-award-winning educator, Dr. Huff shares insights on X, BlueSky, and LinkedIn.
He is also the founder of Leading with Parents, fostering strong school-family partnerships.
